Dutch art magazine Tubelight will publish a special Kunstvlaai edition that will be available during the Kunstvlaai. This special edition will shed light on several Dutch and foreign art(ist-run) initiatives that will participate in Kunstvlaai 2014.
Lokaal01 from Antwerp presents at Kunstvlaai a project by RAUMTE, a collaboration of seventeen young artists. During Kunstvlaai they will present ‘Have you seen this exhibition?’ The actual space of the exhibition is a Rolykit box, containing art pieces by every artist of the collective. This exhibition comes in a multiple format, where every artist has one Rolykit, to travel with, and to open it for audiences in different places.
Le Cube - independent art room from Rabat presents at Kunstvlaai the project 'Frontières fluides – Fluid boundaries' by Katrin Ströbel and Mohammed Laouli. It speaks of migration between the Maghreb and Europe and the identity of an artist in the era of a more and more globalized art world. In this project, a 'nomadic-boat' (a temporary shelter built with local materials on the boat) functions as a symbol for the artist's life today: nomadic, unstable, temporary, always in motion, in transit.
Askeaton Contemporary Arts from Askeaton invites artists Fiona Larkin and Stephen Brandes to the Kunstvlaai. Fiona Larkin has for several years made artworks that play with the expectations of public space. Her work 'Wolfs Den' consists of a collection of second-hand jackets that can be worn by participants and visitors of Kunstvlaai. 'Wolfs Den' is more like an ordinary event than something being played out for our entertainment.
